Work Stress Claims Another Life

A 38-year-old software engineer, Karthikeyan, was found dead by suicide at his residence in Chennai. The tragic incident occurred on Thursday when his wife discovered him entangled in a live wire after returning home from a trip. Karthikeyan had been battling depression and was under treatment for the condition. Originally from Theni district in Tamil Nadu, he had worked in the tech industry for 15 years and had recently transitioned to a new job.

While some reports suggest that Karthikeyan’s depression may have been linked to work-related stress, his family and the police have not confirmed this. According to the authorities, the investigation is ongoing. "We are examining all factors. He had just started a new job, and his suicide note contained personal messages for his family," a police officer stated. 

At the time of the incident, Karthikeyan was alone at home. His wife, K Jayarani, had left for a temple visit to Thirunallur on Monday, leaving their two children, aged 10 and 8, at her mother's house. When she returned on Thursday and received no response to her knocks, she used a spare key to enter the house, only to find her husband’s lifeless body.

A case of unnatural death has been filed and further investigation is underway.
