Mukesh Ambani appoints Ira Bindra as RIL Group President for the entire people, leadership and talent piece to drive transformation across the entire organisation

In a strategic move, Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani has appointed Ira Bindra as Group President, overseeing people, leadership, and talent development across Reliance Industries or RIL. This appointment is expected to drive a transformative shift in human resources (HR) at Reliance, marking an unprecedented era of growth and development.

In a message, Mukesh Ambani wrote, “I am pleased to welcome Ms Ira Bindra to the Reliance Family.” Notably, Bindra has joined the company from Medtronic, USA, where she was the Head of Human Resources and Vice President of Global Regions. Bindra is a global HR and business leader with deep domain expertise across a range of industries, geographies, and business cycles.

She has deep business and functional HR expertise across industries such as medtech, financial services, and large industrial and global delivery centre businesses. These leadership roles have been across complex geographies globally both in developing and developed markets, including India, United States, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

Bindra has led large HR teams in Fortune 100 companies, such as GE, and has led organizations through bold business transformations, from designing new operating models and creating new business lines to executing significant divestitures, resulting in better performance and outcomes.

“With diverse leadership roles under her belt, spanning HR Business Partner, Talent Development, Technology R&D, Commercial, Compliance, and Business Transformation, Ms Bindra brings her expertise in blending business, data, and people strategies to impact results. Ms Bindra earned her Bachelor's Degree from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi, India, and completed her Master of Business Administration from Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands,” Ambani added.

In her new role as Group President - People and Talent at Reliance, Bindra will work with Mukesh Ambani, Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani, Anant Ambani and the entire EC to drive transformation across our company for People, Culture, and Leadership. She will partner closely with all our business and HR leaders to continue to build on the foundation we have and help create world-class HR and people development practices.

On her appointment, Bindra stated, “I’m delighted to share that I’ve started a new chapter in my professional journey in Reliance as Group President - People and Talent.
