As the COVID pandemic rages on, an individual's mental health and productivity has taken a hit.

Amidst this turmoil, quite a few brands have announced a four-day work week for their employees, hence the hospitality giant stands no far.

Oyo is the first amidst other hospitality brands in India to have announced a 4-day work week pilot project for the month of May-June, effective today.

According to the sources, Ritesh Agarwal, Founder and CEO, Oyo Hotels had sent out a mail to all his employees where he mentioned that, "We are declaring the next 3 Wednesdays from the month of May, which is 12th, 19th and 26th May and the first Wednesday of the June month as company holidays. Please take a mid-week breather, spend quality time with family at home. These days shouldn't be used by any employee to indulge into any office-related work."

The pilot project of #MyWednesday will be reviewed post 2nd June and it is then that the management will take a final call if more such mid-week breathers should be provided to employees or not.

And this is not it. #FlexiOff has also been availed to all OYO employees where they can take a day any day till the month of July.

Agarwal mentioned that, "from now through July please take a day off whenever required. No one will be questioned or asked to give a reason. Just inform your reporting manager and no need to log them on the system as well."

Also, these paid leaves are apart from the ones already listed in the yearly HR claendar inclusive of casual leaves and sick leaves in an year.

Agarwal firmly believes that the introduction of such initiatives wouldn't hamper the company's productivity, on the contrary, the employees will be much more focused, efficient and productive at work.
