In a recent development, Biswaroop Mukherjee, Head of HR for Commercial Vehicles at Tata Motors, has decided to step down to pursue personal interests outside the organisation.
On the morning of 21 October 2024, Tata Motors’ Executive Director, Girish Wagh, alongside CHRO Sitaram Kandi, informed the company's leadership of Mukherjee's departure. Shortly after, around 10:30 AM, Mukherjee exited all leadership groups online. His resignation and official exit were confirmed on the same day.
Highly placed sources have confirmed the development to BW People.
This marks Mukherjee’s second tenure at Tata Motors, having previously served the company for over six years. He initially joined Tata Motors in July 2011 as Division Manager – HR International Business, later becoming Head HR – Commercial Unit, CVBU & International Subsidiaries, before leaving in 2017. Mukherjee then spent two years at GE Power as HR Leader before rejoining Tata Motors in April 2019 as Senior General Manager and Head of Talent Acquisition, Employer Branding, and Industry Academia Relations. He was promoted to Head HR for the Commercial Vehicles Business Unit in September 2019.
Prior to his roles at Tata Motors, Mukherjee held leadership positions at renowned organisations such as Deloitte, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, and ABP News Network.
BW People reached out to Mukherjee for a comment on his departure, but he declined to provide any statement.
