Zepto's Headquarter Relocation To Affect Over 1000 Of Its Employees

Zepto is allegedly proposing to pay for the relocation or movement costs for employees who are probably willing to move in order to support this relocation or movement

A well-known media publication has reported that Zepto is moving its operations from the Powai neighbourhood of Mumbai to Sarjapur, Bengaluru, starting on August 6.

An unnamed Zepto employee, claims that while the company has been accommodating thus far, all staff are currently being asked to relocate to Bengaluru by the end of November or early December. Zepto's employees, namely the development and product teams already based in Bengaluru, will be connected to one other through this relocation. The business teams are now based in Mumbai. The company's operations will be the focal point of this transfer or migration, which will consolidate 1,700–1,800 employees in one place.

Zepto is allegedly proposing to pay for the relocation or movement costs for employees who are probably willing to move in order to support this relocation or movement. This move is expected to cost ₹3–4 crore in total, as one-time costs or fees. Nevertheless, a person with knowledge of the situation said that significant rent savings would offset and pay this price.

Zepto is nearing completion on the lease for a new office block in Bengaluru. They are thinking of places like Bellandur, HSR Layout, or Sarjapur, which are well-known for being home to a number of startups and global corporations, including rivals of Zepto like Swiggy and Flipkart.

Out of the 1,000 employees in Mumbai, a source informed Moneycontrol that roughly 90% of them are already open to moving, and the remaining employees are currently in talks with their employers about moving. Only roughly 5–7% of the 1,000 Mumbai–based workers will be unable to relocate to Bengaluru if all goes as planned.
