Google India Introduces Inclusive Parenthood Support Programme

Google India has rolled out an enhanced Family-Building Benefits programme aimed at simplifying the journey to parenthood for its employees. Announced by Interim Country Lead Roma Datta Chobey and Head of HR Shraddhanjali Rao, the initiative provides extensive support for employees at every stage of their parenting journey, irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, life stage, or family structure.

The program takes a holistic approach, addressing challenges beyond financial aid to include:

• Pre-Parenthood Guidance: Employees gain access to resources like cycle tracking tools, information on conception options, and fertility treatments such as IUI and IVF, alongside fertility preservation services.
• Expert Advice: Industry professionals are available to provide second opinions, advice on adoption and surrogacy, and mental health support.
• Postnatal Support: Assistance includes birthing support, postpartum care, and feeding guidance to help new parents navigate early parenthood.

Roma Datta Chobey emphasized the significance of this initiative: “Whether employees are planning a family, expanding it, or facing parenthood challenges, this program ensures they feel supported every step of the way.”

Shraddhanjali Rao added, “The path to parenthood is rarely straightforward, with highs and lows along the way. We want to walk alongside every Googler on this journey.”
