Yamaha Motor India Group has appointed Itaru Otani as its new Chairman, marking a significant leadership change aimed at expanding Yamaha’s presence in India’s two-wheeler market. With over three decades of experience within Yamaha Motor Company, Otani has held influential roles in diverse markets, including Australia, Brazil, and Japan, with a focus on sales, marketing, and corporate strategy in the motorcycle segment.
As Chairman, Otani plans to align Yamaha’s offerings with the evolving preferences of Indian consumers. “With Indian consumer aspirations evolving, we see tremendous opportunities to blend Yamaha’s global expertise with local preferences to create products that meet market expectations,” Otani stated.
With manufacturing facilities in Chennai and Surajpur, Yamaha has heavily invested in research and development to ensure its models cater to Indian roads and consumer preferences. Under Otani’s leadership, the company intends to further develop its “Call of the Blue” campaign, which connects with consumers seeking advanced technology and an enhanced riding experience.
