WeWork India Strengthens Leadership With Key Board Appointments

WeWork India announces key changes to its Board of Directors. This newly appointed Board brings together individuals from various industries with experience across sectors, reinforcing WeWork India’s commitment to innovation, growth, and excellence.

Jitendra Mohandas Virwani, Chairman and Managing Director of Embassy Group, steps into the role of Non-Executive Chairman, lending his industry insight to further strengthen WeWork India’s growth strategy. Joining as Independent Directors, Ms. Mahua Acharya and Ms. Anupa Rajiv Sahney bring their experience that will guide WeWork India’s initiatives towards sustainability and growth. Mahua, who has experience in electric mobility and climate finance, most recently served as MD and CEO of Convergence Energy Services Ltd. Anupa, a respected advisor, serves on several corporate and advisory boards, including the Harvard South Asia Institute.

Furthermore, Adnan Ahmad, member of the Board of Directors of WeWork Inc. and senior advisor to Yardi Systems, Inc., will also join the WeWork India Board of Directors, taking over from Mr. David Mayland, Vice President, Head of Corporate Development, WeWork Inc. These additions to the board are indicative of Embassy Group and WeWork Inc.'s continued trust and confidence in the long-term success of the India business. The new board members are highly seasoned individuals from various industries, especially finance and governance. These appointments strategically align with WeWork India’s vision of focusing on long-term growth, along with a renewed focus on governance.

Additionally, Manoj Kumar Kohli transitioned to Independent Director on September 27, 2024, enhancing the Board’s governance further. WeWork India also extends sincere gratitude to Mr. P R Ramakrishan, for his dedication and contributions to the company’s success.

Karan Virwani has now taken on the expanded role of Managing Director & CEO.
