A Wells Fargo employee in Arizona was discovered dead at her desk four days after she last clocked in. Sixty-year-old Denise Prudhomme was last seen entering her office building on West Washington Street in Tempe at 7 am on Friday, 16 August. It wasn't until the following Tuesday, 20 August, that building security found her unresponsive in her cubicle and alerted authorities.
Tempe police have stated that their preliminary investigation revealed no signs of foul play. The department's criminal investigations bureau is now collaborating with the Maricopa County Medical Examiner to determine the exact cause of Prudhomme's death.
According to local media, Prudhomme's body was discovered by a colleague walking through the building. On-site security called 911, reporting, "she was found deceased in a cubicle on the third floor of the building." Police arrived at the scene and confirmed her death at 4:55 pm that day. It's believed Prudhomme had remained at her desk unnoticed throughout the weekend and the following Monday.
Employees had reportedly noticed an unpleasant odour in the office but assumed it was due to plumbing issues. A distressed colleague shared with 12 News, “It's truly heartbreaking. What if I had been sitting there? Would anyone have checked on me?”
