Volvo Group in India organised their first ever Pride March within the Bagmane Tech Park. This event was a wonderful opportunity for employees to come together, show their support for the LGBTQ+ community and celebrate the inclusive culture the company strives to foster within the organisation.
Volvo Group India’s leadership team members along with employees walked in solidarity in support of LGBTQ+ inclusion. The participation of the leadership team was more than just a gesture, it is a testament to Volvo’s unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within Volvo Group. The march included a Volvo truck that accompanied the participants in the event. The march started with inspiring words from the leadership team, setting the tone of the event. Pride-themed materials were provided to all participants and concluded with a Swedish fika (coffee and snacks) at the end.
As a company, Volvo Group India initiated several engaging and empowering initiatives around Pride month across the city offices and factories like an awareness session through movies on LGBTQ+, a Pride photobooth to showcase employees allyship, art event giving an avenue for employees to showcase their allyship creatively, Live musical event by Volvo Group’s in-house band, webinar with Adam Harry, India’s first transgender pilot and much more – to foster inclusion and allyship.
