In a unique move to improve employee well-being, Thailand-based marketing agency Whiteline Group is offering paid "Tinder Leave" to its staff. According to The Straits Times, from July until the end of the year, employees will be allowed to take time off for dating. The company has not specified the exact number of days allocated for this leave, but they are covering the cost of Tinder Gold and Tinder Platinum subscriptions for all eligible employees.
"Our employees can use Tinder leave for dating," the company announced in a LinkedIn post, highlighting the company's belief that fostering romantic relationships leads to greater happiness and, in turn, higher productivity.
The idea was reportedly sparked when management overheard an employee saying she was "too busy" to date. Now, employees can take time off to meet their matches, provided they give a week's notice. Only employees who have passed their probation and joined the company between 9 July and 31 December are eligible for this offer.
Whiteline Group, which has about 200 employees, is also offering six months of Tinder Platinum and Tinder Gold subscriptions to its staff, enabling them to enjoy premium features such as seeing who likes them, matching with people globally, and sending notes with Super Likes.
While Whiteline Group focuses on enhancing employee well-being through this creative initiative, an Australian company, Mineral Resources, is taking a different approach. Managing Director Chris Ellison announced plans to install amenities at their Perth head office, aiming to keep employees within the building during work hours.
