Niranjan Kumar Joins Karnataka Bank As CHRO

Throughout his career, he has excelled in leading and transforming HR functions at both unit and enterprise levels

According to an exchange filing, Karnataka Bank, a prominent Indian private sector bank, has appointed Niranjan Kumar as Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), effective 10 June 2024.

Kumar is a seasoned HR professional with over 23 years of experience in human resources and industrial relations. He brings extensive expertise in strategic HR planning, talent management, and organisational design, alongside a proven ability in change management.

Throughout his career, he has excelled in leading and transforming HR functions at both unit and enterprise levels. His skill set includes strategic HR planning, talent management, organisational development, and change management. He has a solid track record of implementing initiatives that enhance employee engagement, foster a high-performance culture, and drive sustainable business results.

Before joining Karnataka Bank, he was Head of HR Business Partners (HRBP) at HDFC Bank, where he worked for over 17 years. Earlier in his career, he served as Deputy Manager - HR at Apollo Global Projects Consultancy. Notably, he became the youngest Head of HR for a unit in Mysore, where he planned and commissioned five business units for Apollo across the MENA and Asia regions.

He holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from PSG College.
