New Safety Directive: Govt Employees In Pune Division Must Wear Helmets

Wearing a helmet when riding a two-wheeler has become mandatory for employees of government and semi-government agencies

In the Pune division, wearing a helmet when riding a two-wheeler has become mandatory for employees of government and semi-government agencies, municipal corporations, councils, and government colleges. Divisional Commissioner Chandrakant Pulkundwar issued this directive. He has also issued a warning, saying that anyone who disobeys the order would face consequences and that it will be noted in their service book. 

According to a news release from Pulkundwar, wearing a helmet is required for both two-wheeler riders and pillion riders in accordance with Section 129 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 and numerous directives from High Courts and the Supreme Court over the years.
