Mumbai Company Faces Backlash Over Unusual Job Requirement

The company asked for candidates with a "sorted personal life with no baggage"

A job listing for a senior executive in talent acquisition at a Navi Mumbai-based company has gone viral after a peculiar job requirement caught the attention of social media users. The listing, which advertised a position at the company's Loma office, raised eyebrows with its demand that candidates should have a "sorted personal life with no baggage." This unusual stipulation sparked widespread discussion and criticism online, with many questioning its relevance in the hiring process.

Originally posted on Naukri.com, the job offer promised a salary between ₹2.75 to 3.75 lakhs per annum for candidates deemed to have a “sorted personal life.” The post gained traction on Reddit after being shared in the "Recruiting Hell" forum, where users voiced their disapproval of such a requirement.

The post received a flurry of negative responses. One user commented, “Employers need to be legally forced to treat employees with basic respect,” while another drew comparisons to high-pressure work cultures in other countries, saying, “India, so not surprised. The professional work/life imbalance over there is reaching Japan levels. See: the two EY suicides over work stress.”
