Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) announced significant leadership changes today, signaling a strategic restructuring of its management team. BP Biddappa assumes a pivotal role on HUL's Management Committee as the Executive Director for Human Resources and Chief of People, Transformation, and Sustainability Officer for South Asia. Pending shareholder approval, Biddappa will also serve as a full-time director on the HUL Board. His primary focus will be driving the people agenda across South Asia and leading transformative efforts from business, organisational, and sustainability perspectives. With extensive experience garnered from leadership roles in Unilever, including Global Home Care and Global Employee Relations, Biddappa brings valuable insights to his new role.
Meanwhile, Anuradha Razdan, currently the Executive Director for Human Resources at HUL and Chief HR Officer for South Asia, is set to transition to a global role as Chief Reward and Organisation Development Officer for Unilever, effective 1 June 2024. Razdan's tenure of over 25 years at Unilever, starting as a management trainee in 1999, reflects her remarkable journey through the ranks.
Rohit Jawa, CEO and Managing Director of HUL, expressed confidence in both leaders, highlighting Biddappa's expertise in transformation and organisational development and praising Razdan for her significant contributions to HUL's strategic HR initiatives.
On the financial front, Hindustan Unilever reported a 6 per cent decline in standalone net profit for the fiscal fourth quarter, with earnings totaling INR 2,406 crore compared to INR 2,552 crore in the corresponding period last year.
