As the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of Gokaldas Exports Limited, a well-known clothing company with a reputation for excellence in performance, people, processes, and products, Amit Sharma has started a new chapter in his career.
In the centre of the clothing industry, Gokaldas Exports prioritises inclusive and moral business methods. With over 35 units worldwide, a workforce of almost 50,000 people, 80 percent of whom are women, and exports to more than 50 countries, Sharma is well-positioned to have a big impact on the business and its workers.
Sharma brings with him a wealth of experience from a 25-year career in human resources, having held leadership roles in a variety of industries, including healthcare, electronics, automotive, chemicals, oil & gas, and global business HR head.
Workforce strategy, organisation development, change management, culture building, capability development, leadership and talent development, employee relations, engagement, and mergers and acquisitions are just a few of the HR functions he has experience with.
Prior to this, Sharma held HR director positions at Ballarpur Industries, Johnson & Johnson Medical, TE Connectivity, Philips Health Systems, and Indian Oil. Creating high-potential personnel frameworks, managing post-merger integrations, creating HR strategies, and establishing greenfield organisations are some of his professional highlights.
Sharma, a member of the Group Leadership Team at Gokaldas Exports Limited, is essential in directing and optimising the HR department to facilitate international business expansion. His hiring is an important milestone in the company's continued efforts to promote an inclusive and happy work environment.
