Bajaj Finance Under Scrutiny As Employee Suicide Raises Harassment Concerns

The housekeeper discovered Saxena hanging in his room

A 42-year-old area manager named Tarun Saxena of Bajaj Finance in Jhansi is reported to have committed suicide.

Tarun Saxena, who passed away, was discovered hanging at his house on Sunday. Serious charges of exploitation by his superiors at Bajaj Finance, where Saxena worked as an area manager, have been brought up in response to a suicide note found by the police.

" He committed suicide by hanging himself with a dupatta. A suicide note was found in which he accused his senior colleagues of mounting pressure by assigning unachievable recovery targets," said Superintendent of Police (City) Gyanendra Kumar Singh.

The note apparently stated that Saxena was experiencing unrelenting pressure from his seniors to meet higher recovery targets.
Similar worries have been expressed by Saxena's family, who believe that ongoing mental harassment was the main factor in his demise.

The housekeeper discovered Saxena hanging in his room.

Gaurav Saxena, Saxena's cousin, was promptly notified about the incident by the housekeeper. Gaurav hurried to Tarun's house and opened the door to the chamber where he had confined his wife and kids before taking his own life.

His brother, Gaurav Saxena, told reporters, “Tarun was mentally tortured by his regional manager Prabhakar Mishra and national manager Vaibhav Saxena. They even hurled abuses at him during a virtual conference. He was frustrated the entire night and ultimately took this extreme step on Sunday.”

As per the reports by NDTV, Saxena wrote in his suicide note that he and his associates were forced to bear the cost of the overdraft loans they were unable to repay from their region.

“I am very tense about the future. I have lost my ability to think. I am going…. I have not slept for 45 days. I have hardly eaten. I am under a lot of stress. Senior managers are pressuring me to meet targets at any cost or quit,” Saxena wrote in his suicide note, reported NDTV.

Before making this terrible decision, Tarun, paid the tuition fees of both his kids for the rest of the year. “You all take care of Megha, Yatharth and Pihu. Mummy, Papa, I have never asked for anything, but am doing so now. Please get the second floor built so that my family can stay comfortably,” the suicide note reads.

"Action will be initiated once the family formally lodges a complaint. The body has been sent for postmortem," the SP added.
