ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India Names Debabrata Dash As Head HR For Eastern India

He brings more than two decades of experience in strategy management and HR leadership

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India has appointed Debabrata Dash as the Head of HR for Eastern India. Dash transitions from MSPL, where he served as Group Vice President of HR and Administration for three and a half years. He holds a PhD in Human Resource Management from Utkal University and a postgraduate degree in Human Resource and Personnel Management from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar.

Dash began his career with BILT as an executive in 1995. He then moved to Odisha Hydropower in 1998, serving as Assistant Manager for the Rengali Hydro Electric Project. In 1999, he joined National Aluminium Company (NALCO) as Assistant Manager-HR, where he introduced the E-Helpline and E-PMS, managed the grievance system, and implemented employee communication forums, competency mapping, and mentoring programs.

In December 2009, Dash briefly joined Jindal Stainless as AGM-Human Resources. From 2010 to 2014, he was Head of Plant HR at Tata Motors in Jamshedpur. He then joined Tata Steel in June 2014 as Head of the Human Resources Department, a position he held for over six years. During his tenure at Tata Steel, he successfully managed the merger of all project units and designed the organizational structure for the engineering and project division.
