Air India Names Sanjay Sharma As Its CFO

Sharma will succeed Vinod Hejmadi, who is retiring after over thirty years with the airline

Air India has named Sanjay Sharma as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective 10 June, succeeding Vinod Hejmadi, who is retiring after over thirty years with the airline.

Sharma brings more than thirty years of expertise in Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, and Real Estate. He transitions to Air India from Tata Projects, where he served as CFO. Sharma will report to Air India’s CEO and Managing Director, Campbell Wilson.

Prior to his role at Tata Projects, Sharma held positions as CFO of Tata Realty Infrastructure Limited and Managing Director, Head of Equity Capital Markets at Deutsche Bank Group. His extensive career also includes significant roles at DSP Merrill Lynch in Mumbai and Merrill Lynch Asia Pacific in Hong Kong.

Commenting on Sharma’s appointment, Campbell Wilson said: “We are delighted to welcome Sanjay to our leadership team and anticipate his valuable contributions to Air India’s ongoing transformation. We also extend our gratitude to Vinod for his long-standing service and his crucial role in the company’s transition to private ownership and subsequent transformation.”
