71.4% Gen Z Endorse Moonlighting: Hunch Poll

As per the poll, 17.4% of respondents were indecisive, acknowledging the potential for upskilling but unsure about managing the workload

Gen Z, the generation shaping today's workforce, prioritises flexibility and diverse skill development. This is reflected in their growing preference for moonlighting, which involves taking on additional work outside their primary job or studies. Moonlighting allows them to explore their interests, gain new experiences, and boost their income.

A recent Hunch poll, a popular social discovery app, surveyed Gen Z's attitudes towards moonlighting. The results were clear: 71.4 per cent of Gen Z voters (2,071 participants) endorsed moonlighting as a valuable career strategy. Moonlighting empowers Gen Z to pursue their passions while building a versatile skill set.

Not everyone embraces the side hustle of life, though. 17.4 per cent of respondents were undecided, acknowledging the potential for upskilling but unsure about managing the workload.

A final 11.2 per cent expressed a preference for mastery in their primary field, suggesting that moonlighting might dilute their focus and hinder their expertise development.

In conclusion, the poll results strongly suggest a preference for moonlighting among Gen Z. The reasoning behind this preference highlights their desire for a more dynamic and fulfilling work experience.
