Zee's CRO Atul Das Steps Down; Mangesh Kulkarni To Be New Business Head

Anil Malhotra, former COO at SITI Networks will succeed as CRO. Additionally, Siju Prabhakaran, who has been leading the south cluster of channels, will now also take charge of the west cluster

Zee Entertainment Enterprises witnesses a series of changes as Atul Das, the company's chief revenue officer, steps down from his position, with Anil Malhotra, former chief operating officer at SITI Networks, appointed as his successor.

Moreover, Mangesh Kulkarni, previously serving as the business head of Marathi Films at Zee Studios, assumes the role of the new business head of Zee TV.

Last month, the board of directors at Zee approved a new organisational framework proposed by Punit Goenka, the managing director and CEO. Under this revamped structure, Goenka will directly oversee the domestic broadcast business, aiming to foster synergies across core business segments including broadcast, digital, movies and music.

Additionally, Siju Prabhakaran, who has been leading the south cluster of channels, will now also take charge of the west cluster, reporting to Goenka.

Meanwhile, Samrat Ghosh, heading the east cluster of channels, will expand his responsibilities to include the north and premium clusters, with Ruchir Tiwari continuing to lead the Hindi movies cluster.

Vishnu Shankar will retain his position leading &TV and the free-to-air segments, while Ashish Sehgal will manage integrated advertisement sales for both the broadcast and digital businesses, with a focus on optimising advertiser value and profitability.

All these executives will report directly to Goenka.

Furthermore, in an expanded role, Sehgal will oversee digital business revenue reporting to Amit Goenka. However, for broadcast business revenue, he will continue reporting to the MD and CEO, Zee stated.

In the midst of these changes, Amit Goenka will continue to lead the digital business with expanded responsibilities, now overseeing original content, including movies, international broadcast business, enterprise technology, and broadcast operations and engineering. His objective is to drive heightened growth through the utilisation of business synergies, and he will report directly to the MD and CEO.

Umesh Bansal will take the reins of the movie business, tasked with overseeing content production, strategy, movie acquisition and syndication, reporting directly to the MD and CEO.

Anurag Bedi will retain his position overseeing the music business, with a focus on enhancing its contribution to the company’s overall bottom line. He will continue to report to Punit Goenka, along with all corporate functions.
