Wipro's chief human resources officer (CHRO), Saurabh Govil, announced that the company will clear all pending recruitment offers by the end of this calendar year. This comes amid growing concerns about IT firms delaying the onboarding process for new hires, sometimes for up to two years. Govil assured that the backlog will be addressed by the end of Q3.
Speaking at Wipro's Q2 earnings press conference, Govil also mentioned that the company has already started onboarding freshers from Q1 and Q2 of this fiscal year, and plans to continue onboarding between 2,500 to 3,000 freshers every quarter.
Wipro reported a 21.2 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit for Q2 FY25, reaching ₹3,208.8 crore. However, the company saw a slight decline in revenue from operations, which stood at ₹22,301.6 crore, a 0.95 per cent drop compared to the same quarter last year. As of now, Wipro’s employee count stands at 233,889.
