One of South Florida's technology companies, UKG, has announced significant layoffs, affecting hundreds of employees.
In an email to staff on Wednesday, UKG revealed the decision to cut 14 per cent of its workforce, equating to approximately 2,000 jobs. The company, known for its staffing and human resource management software, may be familiar to many due to its previous sponsorship of the Miami Heat basketball jerseys, which ended after the 2022-23 season.
UKG has two corporate headquarters, one located in Broward County, South Florida, and the other in Massachusetts. This dual-headquarters structure was established following the 2020 merger between Kronos in Massachusetts and Ultimate Software in South Florida. The layoffs are primarily concentrated in the company's U.S. operations, though UKG has not specified how many job cuts will occur at its Weston location.
