Mobile learning is an eminent part of the learning strategy at SBI General Insurance. As microlearning becomes the preference for both formal and informal learning with our employees at large since it provides flexibility to learners to learn at the pace they can consume and assimilate, the innate capability to offer learning service anytime-anywhere on the go in the design and formats popular with the learners having better retention and recall capabilities, we envisage adoption of mobile learning platform at an accelerated rate. Mobile learning is an integral part of training delivery and plays a significant role in not just meeting training needs for both formal and informal learning but enhancing employee engagement through different interventions/surveys/assessments and podcasts.  

Therefore, in our endeavor towards building a strong foundation of employee’s professional development and giving direction to the thoughts, actions and deliverables of our employees, at SBI General Insurance Company, the team is committed to providing learning solutions that are relevant, engaging, and focused towards enhancing the competency of our workforce ultimately aligned towards the achievement of strategic business objectives.  

With the completion of a total of 136 courses, covering 1,07,062 participants, there has been a steady growth of up to 93.5 percent of the acceptance of such courses with SBI offices.

“When functional owners become the program owners, the human capital has the example of leadership walking the talk and thus alignment of various employees across all levels and functions becomes a by-product of the exercise,” states Sharad Dhakkate, CHRO, SBI general insurance. 

Spanning over the experience of over 24 years across varied industries, Dhakkate’s association with SBI Life Insurance, Tata Communications, Idea Cellular, and Housing & Urban Development Corp Ltd. amongst other organizations has been noteworthy.
