Microsoft Conducts Another Round Of Layoffs

Earlier in 2024, the company cut 2,000 jobs in its gaming division

Microsoft recently conducted another round of layoffs, affecting various teams and locations within the company. According to a report by Wired Geek, these job cuts primarily impacted roles in product and programme management, as indicated by posts on LinkedIn. However, the exact number of affected employees has not been disclosed by the company.

A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed the layoffs, stating, "Organizational and workforce adjustments are a necessary and regular part of managing our business. We will continue to prioritize and invest in strategic growth areas for our future and in support of our customers and partners."

This year, Microsoft has been focusing on restructuring efforts, similar to its actions in 2023. Earlier in 2024, the company cut 2,000 jobs in its gaming division. Last month, another round of layoffs affected nearly 1,000 positions, including roles within the Azure cloud unit and the HoloLens mixed-reality team.
