Netizens are criticising Cognizant's large hiring spree for recent graduates, claiming that the company is providing applicants a low compensation package. Candidates with a three-year full-time degree from any discipline were invited by Cognizant.

Tech companies in India are renowned for providing competitive salary packages. Because they place recent graduates, major IT companies like TCS, Wipro, Accenture, and Cognisant, for instance, are regarded by many as the nation's top employers.

In India, the average monthly wage for a recent graduate is Rs 17,963, according to Indeed. Some Indian cities with the highest salary for recent grads are Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, and Gurgaon. Pune comes in first place with an average monthly income of Rs. 23,000.

But the multinational behemoth in the IT sector, which has a large following in the sector, only provided an annual package worth Rs 2.52 lakh. It is believed that selected applicants would begin working for the corporation as interns, regardless of any previous work experience they may have.
