Infosys Expands Recruitment Amid AI Push, No Layoffs Planned, Says CEO

Earlier this year, Infosys announced that it is working on 225 GenAI projects for its clients and has already trained over 2,50,000 employees in the technology

After making two acquisitions this year, Infosys is actively pursuing more opportunities and hints that another significant acquisition, similar to its recent in-tech buy, could be on the horizon. Infosys CEO Salil Parekh revealed to PTI that the company is particularly interested in acquisitions in areas like data analytics and Software as a Service (SaaS). Additionally, Infosys is exploring potential targets in specific geographies, particularly within Europe and the United States.

Addressing the impact of generative AI, Parekh noted that the technology is generating substantial interest among clients, leading to a significant push for Generative AI (GenAI) initiatives within Infosys as well. He believes that GenAI adoption will grow as companies begin to realise the tangible benefits and improved business outcomes it offers.

Earlier this year, Infosys announced that it is working on 225 Generative AI projects for its clients and has already trained over 2,50,000 employees in the technology. Infosys’ AI and GenAI solutions are currently accessible to clients through its Infosys Topaz platform.

Despite the rapid integration of these new-age technologies, Parekh assured that there are no layoffs planned at Infosys. Instead, the company continues to expand its recruitment efforts as the economic landscape evolves.
