The Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts, launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, are designed to create a streamlined and efficient financial structure for implementing the Ayushman Bharat Mission.
An Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) is a unique identifier that connects all of an individual’s health records in a digital format. The goal of ABHA is to foster a digital health ecosystem, advancing the digitization of healthcare services. Individuals can register for the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) to generate their Health ID or ABHA, completely free of charge. This system allows patients to easily access and manage their health data, such as lab reports, prescriptions, and diagnoses, from various healthcare providers, including hospitals, doctors, labs, and wellness centers. The platform ensures that health information is shared securely and based on patient consent.
