Amid the TCS scam, Wipro has decided to up its checks and balances on contract hiring in its vendor management. The IT services firm will do the performance checks more periodically and at a higher frequency.
The company stated that the procurement and resource management group executives get shifted across teams and several locations at least three to four years. The enterprise risk management is looking at processing in high-risk areas of hiring, facility management and procurement to map leaks and gaps.
Furthermore, the company anticipates a subdued hiring scenario and is in the process of onboarding campus recruits who were offered roles in 2022.
Due to the long haul in the onboarding process, several recruits have pursued other opportunities. However, Wipro is actively engaging with the recruits keeping them informed about the situation.
The current challenges faced by the company are due to the unstable macro environment, making it difficult to provide a specific date for onboarding. However, the firm is reviewing its plans for the 2024 campus hiring batch.
