Twitter’s country director Taranjeet who Singh has worked with the company for about 4 years to build the business for Twitter in the Indian market has stepped down from his position. He had tweeted his decision of calling it quits but did not reveal the reason behind it.
His Tweet read "Hello everyone, after 4 amazing years, I have decided to move on from @TwitterIndia - from being one of the first @Twitter employees in #India, to building up the sales team from the ground up, to leading our expansion and investments as the India Country Director #AmazingRide.”
Meanwhile, the company’s Twitter's global head of revenue strategy and operations Balaji Krish, who is currently based in US will be leading the company in India as an interim leader.
Balaji Krish is taking over to lead Singh's position from next month after Singh’s exit.
Singh has been heading Twitter India for four years and led overall Twitter operations in India and he helped double the user base in India for the microblogging platform to nearly 30 million users. During his career, he also saw the launch of "Twitter Lite", a more accessible, faster and affordable way to get real-time information.
He has over two decades of experience in sales and business development. Before joining Twitter, he spent about 10 years with BBC as head of advertising and sales director of South Asia.
