TVS Motor Company skills 55,000 people to become employable

Srinivasan Services Trust (SST), the social arm of TVS Motor Company, has skilled over 55,000 people with the vocational training.  Programme that run across more than 5000 villages in 5 states across the country has trained these young men and women generate income of Rs. 9,000 – Rs. 16,000 per month. About 21 types of vocational training courses are offered to the youth. 


SST has been at the forefront of creating a quality talent pool in ‘rural India.’ It has been relentlessly working to create a skilled taskforce in the age group of 18 to 35 years. It has partnered, with government bodies, training institutions, NGOs and other policy makers across 5 states in 5015 villages, to develop skilled and ‘industry ready’ workforce across different sectors.

 

SST works with the government agencies to provide training to unemployed young men and women in project villages. SST works at multiple levels to help make the youth more employable. Besides providing vocational training courses, training in soft skills, language classes, etc. are also organised to make them more employable. SST offers career guidance and counselling to high school graduates, while making them independent and financially able. SST offers 21 types of vocational training courses to the youth in the project villages.
