Puneet Bhatla To Be GE Power India's New MD, Prashant Jain Resigns

Prashant Jain, Managing Director of GE Power India Ltd (GPIL), has resigned from his position, with his departure taking effect on 31 August 2024. Jain had been at the helm of GPIL since April 2019, overseeing the company's operations and strategic initiatives.

Following Jain's resignation, GPIL's board swiftly appointed Puneet Bhatla as the new Managing Director and Additional Director, starting 1 September 2024. Bhatla's tenure is set to continue until 30 June 2027.

GE Power India is a significant player in the country's energy sector, known for its robust capabilities in engineering, manufacturing, project management and the supply of power generation and transmission infrastructure solutions.

In a statement, the company highlighted the strategic importance of the transition, emphasising continuity in leadership as it continues to expand its footprint in India's energy sector.
