Open AI, the Microsoft Corp-Backed company, has appointed Pragya Misra as Public Policy and Partnerships Head, making her the first hired employee of Open AI from India.
She is known to commence working by the end of this month.
The recent addition to the company's workforce indicates efforts towards advocating for favorable regulations for AI, amidst the global discourse on its regulation. With India being a significant market with substantial growth prospects, navigating local laws that prioritize local enterprises poses a challenge.
According to Pragya Misra's LinkedIn profile, she obtained an MBA from the International Management Institute in 2012. Prior to this, she pursued a commerce degree from Delhi University and acquired a Diploma in Bargaining and Negotiations from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
