More Women Should Be Encouraged To Come Into The WorkForce: Dr. Indu Shahani, President & Chairperson, Innovative Schools Union

Eminent HR luminaries gathered on one virtual platform for discussing human resources issues in the present times and the near future. The session titled “Leadership’s Role in Transforming Business Models During Pandemic’ was a part of the BW People's inaugural 'HR 40 Under 40', in association with BW Businessworld, that aims to recognize HR professionals who have the zeal to make the industry and the HR function, future-ready.

In his opening remark, Sachin Rajan, Partner & Managing Director, Russell Reynold Associates said, “This is a new method that we have to deal with and there have been some very interesting disruptions too.” “Hiring is back to the level where it was, pre-COVID and we need to connect and come across more authentic and pragmatic leaders,” he added.

Dr. Indu Shahani, President & Chairperson, Innovative Schools Union stressed the increased role of women in the leadership space. She asserted, “More women should now be encouraged to come into the workforce”. She also focussed on the need to improve the condition of the Indian education system so that we can attract our students to our universities. She further stated that trust was the most important thing that helped her in times of pandemic and hence we should value the significance of trust and empathy.

“HRs role is critical at this point. All of us are in that space where we are wanting to make a difference.” underlined Rajiv Bhalla, Managing Director, Barco India

“Re-skilling of people is going to be the key,” he added further.
