MetLife Names Shurawl Sibblies As CHRO

She will assume the role effective 1 August 2024

MetLife has appointed Shurawl Sibblies as executive vice president and chief human resources officer, effective 1 August 2024. She will report directly to President and Chief Executive Officer Michel Khalaf and join the Executive Leadership Team.

"Shurawl will enhance our efforts to cultivate a purpose-driven, inclusive culture that attracts, develops, engages, and retains top talent," stated Khalaf. "With her outstanding track record in developing high-performing teams globally, Shurawl is poised to continue empowering our employees for the future and positively impacting our customers and communities. We are delighted to welcome her back to MetLife."

Sibblies transitions to MetLife from American Express, where she served as executive vice president and colleague strategic partner, overseeing talent, organisational, and leadership development strategies across several business units and functions, including the consumer business, international markets, innovation units and enterprise functions.

Before her tenure at American Express, Sibblies was senior vice president and human resources business partner at MetLife, supporting the U.S. Business, Global Employee Benefits, and Investments teams, as well as various company functions. She has also held leadership roles in human resources, finance, and product management at companies such as TIAA, Citigroup, and Hewlett-Packard.

Sibblies holds a B.S. in business administration from the University of Albany, an M.S. in predictive analytics from Northwestern University, and an M.B.A. in finance from the University of Rochester.
