Social media giant, Facebook announced the appointment of Marne Levine as its first Chief Business Officer.
In a post, Marne Levine told said she will oversee Facebook's advertising business and global partnerships. She will report to Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg.
She shared her appointment news via a social media post, " I'm excited to share that I am taking on a new role as Facebook's Chief Business Officer. This is a new position overseeing Facebook's advertising business and global partnerships. It is a privilege to be leading a business that enables economic and social change for our global partners, helping them to create their brand, build their community, and grow their business through the innovative solutions we offer across our platforms."
From 1993 to 2000, she worked at the United States Treasury Department on issues like the 1997 Asia n financial crisis and predatory lending. She became the Chief of Staff at Harvard University from 2001 to 2003.
She has over a decade long stint with Facebook, in which she has served in various roles. Levine was vice president of global public policy for Facebook from 2010 to 2014 then she became Instagram's first COO. She has also served as the VP of Global Partnerships, Business and Corporate Development at FB.
