According to police, an alleged fraudster posing as the human resources head of a multinational corporation defrauded HSBC Bank of more than 2 crore.
The accused opened 38 salary accounts in the names of "employees," received 28 credit cards, and obtained two loans. However, neither the loans nor the credit card payments were made, according to police.
In this regard, a FIR was filed at the Sushant Lok police station, they added.
According to the complaint filed by Saurabh Abrol, an authorised representative of HSBC Bank, the accused committed a fraud totaling more than 2 crore. Some credit card and loan holders were not making payments to the bank and could not be reached.
According to Abrol's complaint, a person named Sachin Kathuria, posing as the HR head of a multinational corporation, met with bank employees at the Sector 44 branch.
He opened salary accounts in the names of 38 people, presenting them as company employees.
According to the complaint, money was credited to these accounts as salaries every month.
