KSRTC Employees To Receive Salaries On First Day Of Each Month

Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar announced the initiative on 6 November 2024, which aims to improve financial stability and morale among the workforce

Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar announced that Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) employees will now receive their salaries on the first day of each month, effective immediately. The decision, made public on 6 November 2024, aims to improve financial stability and morale among the workforce. The announcement was part of the inauguration event for KSRTC’s new Emergency Medical Unit at the Thampanoor Central Bus Station, which marks a new focus on passenger and employee welfare.

The recently launched 24-hour Emergency Medical Unit at Thampanoor station provides free primary healthcare to both passengers and KSRTC employees, creating a safer, more convenient travel environment. Developed in collaboration with the Society for Emergency Medicine India and NIMS Medicity, this facility will soon be expanded to 14 other bus stations across Kerala, showcasing KSRTC's commitment to passenger care.

Minister Kumar also addressed operational challenges KSRTC has faced, including the issue of leasing its canteen facilities. Previous leasing efforts struggled due to the lack of suitable vendors; however, the corporation has now opted for partnerships with established hotels to ensure quality meals for passengers and employees alike. This initiative is part of KSRTC’s six-month strategic improvement plan, which focuses on enhancing the organisation’s overall service quality and operational efficiency.
