Amidst EY Death Case, Similar Case With HDFC Bank Employee Sparks Wave Again

The victim named Sadaf Fatima was posted as additional deputy vice-president at HDFC Bank’s Vibuti Khand branch in Gomti Nagar

A woman who worked for HDFC Bank in Lucknow allegedly passed away from work-related stress a few days after another Ernst & Young (EY) India employee in Pune died, purportedly as a result of overwork, according to News18.

The victim, Sadaf Fatima, worked at the HDFC Bank's Vibuti Khand branch in Gomti Nagar as an additional deputy vice-president. According to her coworkers, Fatima passed away in the bank's premises after falling off her chair. Despite being taken to a neighbouring hospital immediately, she was pronounced dead and her body was submitted for a postmortem.

In response to Fatima's passing, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav stated that people are working out of "compulsion" and that stress and strain at work have become the same in both public and commercial sectors.
