Winning Stroke: Interview with Sugandha Agarwal, CEO, and Founder at Docttocare

If not in the current profession, you would be?

In a parallel world, I see myself having a career in yoga teaching or a self-proclaimed artist who takes the help of canvas to share her imagination with the world.

One tune you always hum?

An old tune from a Rajesh Khanna's movie - "Zindagi ka Safar hai ye Kaisa Safar" comes often to me.

One book to read when you want to motivate yourself?

I like self-help books. To name them -  Love for imperfect things by Haemin Sunim and IKIGAI is top on my list in the recent past.

One dialogue of a movie that motivates you or you like the most?

“FEAR CAN’T BE TRUSTED.”
This is one of the best dialogue that Elsa says in the movie according to me. It’s a great line that can be applied to many real-life situations, so it’s rather inspiring in that way. But, one of the things that makes this line wonderful is how it reflects the journey Elsa has been on. While in the first film she was giving in to fear, she learned that fear is what kept her from being able to control her powers and be herself. So, her saying this now is definitely a step forward in her character's arc.

The place you have never been to and always want to go?

The "White Continent"  Antarctica, is one such favorite place of mine.

An animal that signifies you & why?

I possess dog-like characteristics. Caring for loved ones, staying truthful and trying as hard as possible to keep folks around me happy are few overlapping traits.

A Movie Character you most resemble or resonate with?

I admire the character of Sandra Bullock in the movie "Bird Box".

If your life was to be turned into a movie, who would you like to play your part?

I am going to have a very wild imagination now. I would want to play the character of Tony Stark in Iron man (and if possible, all the avenger movies too).

Luck or Hard Work, what do you think weighs more in defining a successful person?

Both. As Rumi rightly said, "What you seek is seeking you". Your hard work makes yourself ready to handle the success in the right way and your luck will fill the gaps around whatever you don't have in your control.

One best decision you ever made?

Embarking on my entrepreneurial journey of Docttocare, I felt myself trapped into the usual 9-5 job, adding very minimal value to the large organization I worked at. The impact that I am making to society as part of my work at Docttocare is unrealistically satisfying and gives me a sense of doing good for society in a better way.

A strategy that you always use to take your decisions in Personal or Professional life?

I avoid taking any decision that puts me in a weaker spot than what I am currently at. Decisions that are harder but seem right to my moral compass are ones I end up taking whenever in doubt.

Whose advice do you seek when in a dilemma?

I am very close to my father and takes his suggestions in an unclear situation.

What has been your biggest achievement? One thing that you want to change in yourself?

Taking control of my health. Last year I put myself on weight gaining spree due to not focusing enough on my diet and exercises. I managed to improve my fitness level by following my routine religiously. One fun fact - As we know rice as a food is a simple carb and makes you gain weight fast if you don't control it. To be more predictable in my efforts, I abstained from intaking rice or rice-based products for straight 12 months. No exceptions.

A line said by your closed one that you never forget?

My mum once said - Being a little bit selfish goes a long way in maintaining your sanity. We end up giving attention to the needs of people around you and lose track of our own needs. Maintaining a healthy balance is the trick here.
