Winning Stroke: Interview With Aprajita Bhargava Bhasin, East Lifestyle

If not in the current profession, you would be?

If not being in my own business, I would have continued doing what I had been doing for 11 years before moving full time into business - that is being an international RJ and an Anchor.

One tune you always hum.

Radio by Lana Del Rey

One book to read when you want to motivate yourself.

The Art of Happiness by HH 14th Dalai Lama and Howard Cutler. This book I must have read over 20 times, it lifts me up instantly.

One dialogue of a movie that motivates you or you like the most.

"Without actions, the best intentions in the world are nothing more than that, intention" - The Wolf of  Wall Street.

The place you never been to and always want to go?

Mahe and Praslin Islands, Syechelles

An animal that signifies you & why?

A horse! As the main characteristics that signify this animal are courage, power, and freedom. And they all resonate pretty well with my personality.

A Movie Character you most resemble or resonate with

Katnis Everdeen - The hunger Games.

If your life was to be turned into a movie who would you like to play your part?

Gal Gadot or Jennifer Lawrence.

Luck or Hard Work, what do you think weighs more in defining a successful person?

I think it's about the right mix, i.e being at the right place, at the right time and striking with the right force

One best decision you ever made.

Leaving my first job as a software engineer.

A strategy that you always use to take your decisions in Personal or Professional life.

I ask myself one main thing before I take any decision in my life -   Will this move improve the quality of my life?

Whose advice do you seek when in a dilemma?

Two people:  my dad for whom I am still his little princess and my husband who's also my business partner, my mentor, my best friend, and my worst critic.

What has been your biggest achievement?

Setting up my first business as a sole proprietor,  and selling it at profit within 2 years of its establishment.

One thing that you want to change in yourself.

My need for speed. Be it the office or home, I like to get things finished before the deadline and without any compromise. That makes me over-exert myself by working non-stop.

A line said by your close one that you never forget?

My mother told me this when I had just started my first business - "Don't just work hard, work smart."  She passed away 4 years back, but this line has defined my working style.
