The American retail giant, Walmart comes with Insurance partners in order to expand the benefits to the families of employees by including fertility treatments under their given insurance plan. Walmart said on Tuesday that it will be partnering with New York-based Kindbody to provide benefits such as in vitro fertilization as well as fertility testing regardless of sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status.
The employees of Walmart will get access to more than 30 fertility clinics and in vitro fertilisation labs across the country, the Kindbody’s clinic will be helping out the employees through their issues of surrogacy and adoption benefits
Senior vice president, Walmart Global Total Rewards, Kim Lupo said "Providing access to high-quality health care is very important to us, and we've heard from our associates that improved access to fertility, surrogacy and adoption support is a priority for them and their families," Walmart joins Amazon and other major employers in helping employees with adoptions or covering fertility treatments. More companies are adding these benefits in part to attract and retain workers in a tight labor market.
According to FertilityIQ, one round of IVF can cost about $23,000 on average in the US. Founder & Chairwoman of Kindbody, Gina Bartasi “signals that fertility benefits have joined medical, dental and vision as a standard workplace benefit for leading employers,”.
