The Haryana government on Thursday made some important updates to the Haryana Enterprises and Employment Policy 2020. A notable move that has come to light is the hike in employment generation subsidy for certain categories of employees. Accordingly, the revised subsidy now stands at Rs 48000 per annum.

As per law insider, an employment subsidy means a subsidy aimed at reducing unemployment. It can be granted under multiple arrangements. The increase in employment subsidies has been implemented to give impetus to local hiring.
Eligibility for employment generation subsidy
The employment generation subsidy is provided for capacity building of state-domicile skilled, semi-skilled or un-skilled employees who are earning not more than Rs 40,000 per month as salary on payroll or contract with a valid ESI/PF number.
