VOC Automotive, a provider of automotive services, has launched a training programme, "VOC Technical Academy (VTA)". Designed to equip individuals with the skills necessary to excel in the automotive sector, the programme aims to train and employ 2,500 people with a minimum of a 10th-grade education.
Since its inception, the program has attracted participants from various regions across India, including North India (Bihar, Odisha), East India, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. The diverse geographic representation underscores VOC’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. Training sessions are conducted at VOC’s head office in Bangalore, where participants receive accommodation and food as part of their training fee.
Most of the trainees are qualified until 10th or 12th and some of them have been working in their respective local garages but have no proper skills.
Venkatesh B M, CEO and co-founder of VOC Automotive, expressed enthusiasm for the program's impact, stating, “We are committed to providing quality training and guaranteed job placements in our VOC outlets. Our goal is to address the critical shortage of skilled labor in the automotive sector, both domestically and internationally.”
The programme offers two distinct courses tailored to different levels of experience. A 15-day intensive course for freshers and a 60-day comprehensive course for experienced individuals. Both include accommodation, meals, and a 100 per cent guaranteed job placement. Upon completion, freshers can expect starting salaries ranging from INR 8,000 to 15,000, depending on location.
Highlighting the urgent need for skilled labor, Venkatesh B M, CEO and co-founder of VOC Automotive, cited, "According to the latest data from the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), India's unemployment rate surged to 9.2 percent in June 2024, from 7 percent in May 2024. This alarming increase underscores the urgent need to address the job crisis. Through our initiative to train India's youth, we aim to equip young people with the skills necessary to secure employment and contribute to the nation's economic growth."
The co-founder further adds, “We are different in the market because we offer a 100% job placement guarantee. No other program in the industry provides this level of assurance. Through this we want to ensure that every participant not only gains valuable skills but also secures meaningful employment.”
Through partnerships with 14 NGOs, Skill India, and other institutions, VOC ensures a steady pipeline of trainees and ample job opportunities. The company aims to address global gaps in skilled labor by providing high-quality training and job placement services.
