Vistara has revealed plans to provide a special bonus to its employees this year, citing the airline's enhanced performance.
The ex-gratia payout will be a one-time lump sum based on the employee's current grade as of 31 March. Eligibility criteria include individuals who have completed one year or more with the organisation as of 31 March 2024, and are not serving a notice period upon disbursement.
Sources suggest that the bonus amounts could range from Rs 30,000 for executives to Rs 2.8 lakh for deputy general managers.
Despite this positive development, Vistara has faced challenges recently due to sudden mass sick leave by pilots, resulting in disruptions to flight operations. Over a dozen flights were cancelled and many more experienced delays as pilots expressed dissatisfaction over new contracts aligned with the airline's merger with Air India.
Currently operating a fleet of 67 aircraft, including Airbus A320neo, Airbus A321, and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, Vistara is set to welcome its 70th and final Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in the upcoming weeks.
