The United Arab Emirates is known to be one of the major hubs when it comes to the labour workforce. When it comes to labour rights and launching new schemes for the labour workforce, the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) is fairly active.
The MoHRE has recently stipulated that establishments must provide labour accommodation for the employees. The development was confirmed by the ministry in a Twitter post.
Giving brief details about the new directive, the post says that an establishment must provide accommodation if It has 50 workers or more. and the workers' wages are AED1500 or less.
Besides the above mandates, the establishments are expected to comply with labour accommodation standards and general standard guidelines for shared labour accommodation and its services.
The establishments must also comply with the general standard guidelines for shared accommodations dedicated to accommodating less than 500 workers.
