Telangana Govt. To Launch Insurance Scheme For SCCL Employees

The Telangana government is scheduled to introduce an accident insurance policy worth Rs 1 crore for 43, 000 regular workers employed by Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) on Monday, according to Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu.


On Sunday, the Dy.CM and Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao officially opened a 10.5 megawatt solar facility at Ramavaram in Kothagudem town, which was built by Singareni Collieries Company Limited during the former BRS regime.


According to Vikramarka, a notification was sent out two days ago to fill 464 positions. The upper age restriction for compassionate appointments was raised from 35 to 40 years old. Coal blocks in the Singareni region could not be sold to private enterprises.


SCCL produced 70 million tonnes of coal in the current fiscal year, up from 67 million tonnes the previous year. The Dy. CM stated that plans have been made to produce 90 to 100 million tons of coal and that the coal blocks in Naini, Tadicherla, Koyagudem, and Rampuram would not be given up.
