Tata Steel Supports Employee Families Through Financial Lifeline

Tata Steel has announced the availability of applications for the Millennium Scholarship for the fiscal year 2022-2023. This scholarship is available to the sons, daughters, husbands, and wives of Tata Steel employees, retired employees, and officers. The application deadline is 29 February, and interested candidates can apply online. The scholarship programme reserves 10 per cent of its seats for individuals from underrepresented groups.

There are 60 seats earmarked for people who use the Employee Stock Scheme (ESS) or the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS). This has 20 Category A seats and 40 Category B seats. The scholarship offers financial assistance in two categories.

Scholarships in category A, with a total of 120 available, are awarded to individuals who gain admission to specific universities, including those pursuing MBBS through NEET. Category A scholarships are worth Rs 50,000 each year.

There are 240 scholarship seats available in Category B, with a yearly scholarship sum of Rs 24,000. Scholarships for boys and girls, as well as children of officers and individuals benefiting from the Sunhari Bhavishya Yojana (SBKY 2.0), are included in this category.

The scholarship requires a minimum of 60 per cent in the final qualifying examination for candidates in the General category and 50 per cent for students in the SC/ST category. Candidates must apply for admission to specific colleges or universities via an All India Competitive Selection Process.

For following scholarship payments, successful applicants must maintain satisfactory performance and conduct, with a minimum of 50 per cent in all courses of study.
