The award for the Best Leadership Development Program was felicitated to Proventus HR Pvt. Ltd. For their initiative titled LEAP – Leadership Mastery Journey (Leadership Excellence through Awareness & Practice).
Based on the idea that Leadership needs to be a practised effort, Proventus HR believes that a single intervention will not lead to significant sustainable change in leadership behaviours. Therefore, they developed LEAP Leadership Mastery Journey which captures a 360-degree mind-share of the participant through modular, multi-modal, multi-sensory interventions over a period of 4-9 months. The initiative adopts a staggered journey approach and focusses on action-planning and individualised SPEED Coaching for facilitating a behavioural shift. The behavioural and result levels of Kirkpatrick’s Learning Evaluation Model is used to measure learning effectiveness.
The objectives they aimed for included establishing a culture of people focussed leadership behaviours through sustained interventions. Inculcating a sense of preparedness in participants for the next level leadership role, grooming and preparing high potential leaders for succession planning, enhancing ownership in the leaders’ team to ensure improved engagement, development and retention and finally, creating an environment that facilitates the growth of more leaders through internal ‘mobility’ metrics.
The program aimed at establishing a strong ‘WIIFM’ through facilitated experience, Immersion and Reflection and leveraging competitive risk-free simulations for assisted practice. They ensured that the content was delivered in byte sized multi-sensory modular learning which was spread over 9 months to ensure understanding and practice. They also placed rigour and emphasis on Action Learning & Speed Coaching to ensure disciplined application. Self-Assessments and a gamified leader-board with engagement, participation and learning performance payoffs were used as incentives. Finally, a 24x7 Coach on call facility was offered to connect with Periodic Thought Ticklers to encourage and support the job application.
Some of the innovations incorporated in their leadership program-LEAP Leadership Mastery include-action planning at a granular level instead of grand-sounding objective statements, SPEED Coaching to ensure post-workshop discipline and support for implementing behavioural change and actioning the learnings and a completely #ExperienceLearning design that follows principles of Andragogy, leveraging simulations & REEL|Life (movie review) methodology.
The program success is evidenced by a consistent Net Promoter Score (NPS) of above 9.2 across all interventions, a promotability ratio of 72.5% for LEAP graduates, increased internal mobility, engagement and retention outcomes. Behavioural shifts acknowledged by managers during program end reviews and the increasing interest in the program suggested by the increasing number of nominations every year.
