Satellite Imaging Startup Pixxel Appoints William McCombe As Its New CFO

Satellite imaging startup Pixxel appointed William McCombe as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). 

The company said McCombe will be responsible for overseeing the company's accounting, financial planning, capital raising, treasury, legal and regulatory functions.

During his prior tenure, McCombe has worked at VELO3D, a 3D printing system company for nearly three years since August 2020. He has also led the finance function across leadership positions in various space and technology hardware companies, including Maxar.

In a statement, Awais Ahmed, Founder and CEO of Pixxel said that the new CFO’s experience and foundational understanding of space imagery and satellite manufacturing businesses will play a pivotal role in steering our company’s financial direction, ensuring sustainable growth.

McCombe took over LinkedIn to express his delight.

His post read, “I’m delighted to share that I’m starting a new position as Chief Financial Officer at Pixxel! With the most advanced hyperspectral imaging technology in the satellite industry, Pixxel will revolutionise data and analytics for environmental monitoring and bring an entirely new level of insight to its customers.”

Pixxel is a space data company backed by Google and Lightspeed. It is committed to building a constellation of the world’s highest-resolution hyperspectral earth imaging satellites and the analytical tools to mine insights from the data.
